A few months ago I was visiting folks at Current TV and we had an interesting conversation about the nature of all the ambient information being captured and digitized through services like Twitter. We were brainstorming ways the newsroom could help capture and make sense of this new ambient cloud for others.
This morning on Twitter, I saw folks passing around this presentation on Twitter As A System Of Ambient Journalism by rofessor Alfred Hermida of Graduate School of Journalism at the University of British Columbia. Definitely worth a look as you try to think about how to engage and leverage this great resources.
